German Airways WingsUp – Phase 2

German Airways WingsUp Phase 2 takes place on site at TFC Käufer flight school near Essen. Used as the second stage of the ab-initio pilot selection process, this phase consists of a simulator flight in the Piper PA-44 Seminole. Candidates can prepare by building familiarity with the aircraft and simulator environment, practising an effective instrument scan, and developing a reliable routine for multitasking and heading work. German Airways WingsUp – Phase 3 is the on-site final selection stage for ab-initio pilot candidates in Cologne. Candidates complete an interview and may take part in a group exercise, demonstrating motivation, communication and suitability.
