AeroLogic has a reputation for high standards, aimed at fulfilling its partners’ quality expectations. This is why they are on the lookout for ambitious individuals, both men and women, who aspire to transform their passion for flying into a profession, ultimately piloting aircraft in AeroLogic’s fleet. TFC Flight Training, known for extensive experience, has been chosen as a partner for this training module.

Your Path to a Commercial Pilot License

  • Training Duration: Approximately 18 months.
  • Theoretical and practical training, including simulator sessions and actual flight, exceeds general requirements.
  • You will develop aviation skills and technical knowledge using advanced simulation equipment (FSTDs).
  • The program incorporates elements of the MPL (Multi-Crew Pilot License).
  • Emphasis on team interaction, decision-making, and responsibility handling through realistic simulation exercises.

Important Notes:

  • The ALFA Program does not offer cost coverage or sponsorship.
  • Completing the ALFA Program does not guarantee employment upon conclusion.
  • The financial responsibility for the training lies with the applicant.

Training Structure

The foundational training spans 18 to 24 months and includes:

  1. Theoretical Phase 1
  2. Practical Training (VFR)
  3. Theoretical Phase 2
  4. Practical Training (IFR) and MCC/JOT

Fundamental Training Details

Conducted in Essen and at Essen-Mülheim Airport on single-engine aircraft, the foundational training covers both theory and practice. The program is closely aligned with AeroLogic’s operational procedures. Professional instructors, including AeroLogic captains and first officers, will guide parts of your training.

Open to candidates with or without an existing private pilot license (PPL(A)), the comprehensive course leads to a “frozen” ATPL or CPL(A) with SEP and MEP-IR after completing theoretical, practical, MCC, and Jet Familiarization Training exams. This license allows you to serve as a co-pilot under supervision.

Upon successful completion, you can apply to airlines and aviation companies globally with your “frozen ATPL.” If AeroLogic has vacancies, you may have the chance to train for type rating and serve as a Second Officer on the Boeing B777F.

Type Rating Training Process

Step 1

As a Second Officer, your initial training as a First Officer occurs in Leipzig, Essen, and Berlin, culminating in acquiring a type rating for the Boeing B777.

Step 2

Over approximately one year, you will gain experience at cruising altitudes above 20,000 feet. This phase familiarizes you with airline operations and long-haul flights, emphasizing takeoffs, approaches, and landings, complemented by twice as many simulator hours compared to other flight crews.

After roughly 1,000 flight hours, you advance to First Officer, fully operational in long-haul networks.

Application Requirements

  • Successful participation in the selection process managed by TFC and AeroLogic, ensuring your compatibility with the pilot career.
  • Adeptness in Mathematics, Physics, and English, demonstrated during the selection.
  • Secondary education completion with vocational training or higher education qualifications (Fachhochschulreife, Abitur, university degree, etc.).
  • Completion of a first-aid course.
  • A Class 1 medical certificate from an aviation medical center.
  • Declaration of any legal proceedings (form provided at training commencement).
  • Driving suitability record from the KBA in Flensburg (online request).
  • Request for security clearance in aviation per LuftSiG § 7 at your regional aviation authority.
